RPF Recruitment 2024: 2000 Constables and 250 Sub-Inspectors Openings - Application Process and Eligibility Details

The Railways Recruitment Board has shared news about hiring Sub-Inspectors and Constables for the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF). They want to fill 2000 Constable positions and 250 Sub-Inspector positions in RPF/RPSF. The hiring process will have three steps: a Computer Based Test (CBT) by the Railway Recruitment Board, a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT) by the Railway Protection Force, and a Document Verification by the Railway Protection Force. People from reserved categories get some extra time to apply.

The hiring is for 2000 Constable and 250 Sub-Inspector positions in RPF/RPSF. Out of these, 10% are for ex-servicemen, and 15% are for women candidates.

The hiring process has 3 phases:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will conduct this.

  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) will conduct these tests.

  3. Document Verification: Also done by the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

*Age Limit: The age range for Sub Inspector (Executive) is 20 to 25 years, and for Constable (Executive) is 18 to 25 years. But, there is some extra time allowed for candidates from reserved categories.

Educational Qualification:

Sub Inspector: 

Graduate from a recognized university.

Constable: 

Minimum 10th pass and equivalent from recognized Board.

*Please note, only a degree from a recognized university for Sub-Inspector and a matriculation certificate for Constable from a recognized Board will be valid.

CBT Exam Pattern: The Sub Inspector test will be at a graduation level, and the Constable test will be at a matriculation (Class 10th) level. You need at least 35% marks (30% for SC and ST candidates) to pass the CBT.

The result of the Computer Based Test (CBT) will be decided by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). You will get the call letter for the PET/PMT from the RRB, in consultation with the Nodal Officer of RPF.
